Join the new ECerS EDI Committee: help shape the future of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in the Ceramic Community!

What is the EDI Committee? The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Committee is being formed to develop and implement a strategic plan that integrates EDI standards into the practices of the European Ceramic Society. Our goal is to foster a more supportive and inclusive research environment.

Why Join? As a member of the EDI Committee, you will participate to:

  • Shape Policy: Establish EDI-focused policies and best practices for the ECerS community.
  • Raise Awareness: Lead initiatives to educate and reduce biases across the network.
  • Support Career Progression: Help develop programs that promote the career advancement of underrepresented individuals in our field.

Key Responsibilities of the EDI Committee

The committee will collaborate with a specialised consultancy agency and will meet periodically (virtual meetings + physical meeting during ECerS conferences) to work on:

  • Surveillance & Reporting: Monitor the current state of EDI within the ECerS community and maintain an up-to-date understanding of best practices.
  • Strategic Development: Propose strategies and launch initiatives to promote EDI across the network.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation: Track progress, measure impact, and adjust strategies based on outcomes.
  • Annual Report: Produce a yearly summary of the committee’s activities, achievements, and challenges.

To achieve this, we are looking to recruit at least 5 enthusiastic members of the ECerS community who are committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in our practices. Committee members will serve on rotating terms, ensuring, as far as possible, balanced representation and the inclusion of EDI experts.

How to Apply?

Why Crystal Structure Matters: Decoding the Performance of Calcium Phosphate Biomaterials

In the world of calcium phosphate biomaterials, crystal structure is often the silent driver behind a material’s success—or failure.
