Research topics :
The DESINe team, consisting of about 20 researchers investigates ecologically and economically justifiable synthesis methods of innovative materials with applications in energy, electronics and health. The materials of interest have evolved from superconductors, to ferroelectric and multiferroic oxides, high-k gate oxides for microelectronics, transparent and conducting oxides for photovoltaics, interface layers, electrode and electrolyte materials for lithium ion batteries to most recently sodium ion batteries, lithium sulphur batteries, and catalyst materials for CCU (carbon dioxide capture and utilization) and hydrogen generation. Their activities comprise a balanced combination of curiosity-driven, fundamental and innovation directed research, carried out in the frame of various national and international collaborations with industry, academia and research organizations.
