2025 ECerS - FIRE Summer School - Dresden

The ECerS-FIRE Summer School "Mining the future of refractories and high temperature materials: the impact of sustainability, AI, computing tools and advanced techniques" will be co-organized by ECerS and FIRE at the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTS, Dresden, Germany, the week before the next ECerS conference, from Thursday 28 to Friday 29 August 2025.

The school will be organised onsite but also online for those who could not travel to Dresden.

This 2025 edition of the ECerS-FIRE School will be a unique opportunity for the attendees (mostly PhD students, but also professionals) to learn more about (or discover!) refractories through 3 main aspects: fundamental approaches, industrial needs and new approaches on innovations.

The School will also be followed by a visit of the University TU BA Freiberg and a visit of the Freiberg Silver Mine OR of the Terra Mineralia Exhibition on Saturday August 30th.
